If anyone is interested in prepping for DITFD VI, we are having random draw doubles Thursday at 5:30 at F.E.W.

$5.00 to get in.

We installed five new tee boxes at FEW on Saturday. Would have done six but ran out of cement. I added photos of four of the five boxes on the Bearclaws web site. Camera battery died and the fifth box did not save.

We did tee boxes 9, 10, 11, 13, 14. This brings tot total number of cement tee boxes to nine. Previously done boxes include 1, 2, 12, 16.

Go to the following link to check out the photos. Scroll near the bottom of the page.

In preparation for Do it for the Dam VI, the Bearclaws are having a huge work day at the Francis E. Walter Dam Disc Golf Course on Saturday, August 15. We hope to install six new cement tee boxes this day.

If we can get all six done, we will have 10 finished in time for Do it for the Dam VI the following weekend on August 22.

We also plan on redesigning a few holes, although this will not be done in gime for this event. Hope to see some LVDC folk on Aug. 22.

Two more cement tee boxes have been completed at FEW. The tees done included holes 12 and 16. That brings the number of cement pads to four. Holes 1 and 2 were previously done.

Check out some photos at the following link on the Bearlaws site. Scroll about halfway down the page.

The Bearclaws Disc Golf Association will host Do it for the Dam VI, Saturday, August 22 at the Francis E. Walter Dam Disc Golf Course in Lake Harmony, Pa.

This event will be a fundraiser to be used for the installation of cement tee boxes at FEW. For those who played the Summer Soltstice in June, you know full well that all the rain leading up to the event left many of the crushed stone tee boxes flooded and soft, providing poor footing in some areas.

This event will help secure some funding for the purchase of the cement. Since the Bearclaws do not receive any financial support from the state, county, or FEW's Army Corp of Engineers, we will have to pay for the entire project. We are fortunate to have some handy individuals among our group and we will do all the installation ourselves.

As of this posting, the tee boxes for holes one and two have already been competed and we will be doing another this weekend. We are hoping to have all the work done before winter.

Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and play will begin at 10:00 a.m. We will play two rounds of singles.

Cost is as follows:
$20 Pro
$15 Advanced
$15 Intermediate
Men's and women's divisions will be offered

Payout will be 60% to field and 40% to the tee box fund.

You can find the event flyer on the first thread at the following link:
http://www.bearclaws.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2236&p=21516#p21516

Anyone unable to attend but wishes to make a small donation can contact Mike Solt or Bob Ziadie. Our contact information is on the flyer.
