Not to burst any bubbles here...

but said tree can't be more than about 300ft from the tee.
Just my two cents.

Still a good throw, about anything over 300 is, i'd say. Unless it goes into a pond or if it's on a sunday at the begining of a church week rather than the end of a work week.

About 400 I would think on flat ground maybe further on a perfect throw. Dont want to be over estimating, but before with a destroyer I was throwing about 10ft short of the last single tree on the right in the fairway on nine at Jordan. With the Groove about 15 or 20 feet after said tree.

I thought you had to be rated 990 or above to review a disc on the PDGA boards. JK. I am aware of all of inconsistencies with these wide rimmed drivers, I think my general dislike for them came out in that last post. I guess I was subconsciously trying to sneak some advice in here.

I trust many of the reviews coming from people on the PDGA Board and DiscGolfReview.com. Most people there will provide a little background information before making reviews - that they can throw 425+ ft. on flat ground, have a 975 player rating, etc. On the PDGA Board you can click on their profile and verify the player rating.

This isn't an issue of recreational/novice players with inconsistent form. It's skilled disc golfers reporting, for example, that the Eco Star Grooves are flippy turnover drivers, while the Champion Grooves are overstable - a very obvious difference.

It might be that some of this comes from the fact that a lot of people don't have the ability to get a speed 13 disc going. It takes excellent form to throw these new discs correctly, both in terms of power and in terms of a clean release. Super wide rimmed drivers are VERY sensitive to nose angle and even a bit of nose up in a release will cause them to stall out and dive left, creating the illusion of overstability.

Careful with that axe, Eugene.

I've read numerous reports that similar to other wide wing drivers, the stability on these can greatly vary from overstable to flippy turnover drivers. Sounds like laxdriver got a good one, but apparently some of the Champion ones are way overstable.

If you haven't picked one of these up yet you should. Very easy to handle compared to the Boss. Easy to flip and it goes all day. I have added at least 30 ft. to my shot with this disc. Very user friendly for intermediate on up.
