PDGA event at Jordan?

I remember reading a random post in an AMMO thread about there maybe being a PDGA sanctioned event at Jordan, perhaps in April.

Is there any more word on this or any PDGA event happening at one of the many LV disc golf courses?

Thanks,
Eric

Has policy changed? I thought the edict was previously made that only the LVDC was permitted to run a tournament on LVDC courses. Remember last year when Frederick Doot (drunkentroubadour) offered to run a tourny?

Yep, and i believe my post went something like: "where do i sign?"

I already petitioned the great PDGA to hold PA states (a tournament we invented) and was promptly shot down, so i guess its my fault for not trying.

Calm down jeff, it was just a joke.

Trying my hardest to no avail,
Jason

Sorry I didn't get your joke - I thought you were being serious.

Just because the PA States bid wasn't awarded to the LVDC doesn't mean you can't hold a PDGA-sanctioned event. Which is obviously what Eric would like to see.

No worries, i should of put a smiley face behind it. (I like the popcorn one!)

Is there a PDGA sactioning where we dont have to pay the PDGA a cut of the entry fee (like the old X or D tier)?
(or)
Can the LVDC get a special PA State rep exemption from fees to hold such an event?

If I could give an exemption I most certainly would. Hells ya! But no such thing exists.

Check out the PDGA Competition Endowment Program described here: http://www.pdga.com/documents/2008/CompetitionEndowmentProgramDetails.pdf

which will waive fees for certain charity and developmental events. Maybe the LVDC can qualify?

Otherwise, if LVDC events are already insured through the park, then they don't need to pay for insurance. So for a C-tier, the only PDGA fees would be $50 for sanctioning and $2 per player. If you can get just *one* local sponsor to kick in $100, that would cover that money.

Hey Davis,
I'll pay the $100 for the jordan tourney, just let me pick the day so I can come, and maybe waive my buy-in. I'm serious.

I guess I should have pointed my question more towards Robin as it was he who posted that there was some consideration for an event at Jordan in April.... This was in an AMMO thread.

I just think it is such a shame - the LV has so many courses and so many players - to host the 2005 WORLDS!!!! and not have so much as a C-tier since.... it is sad.

I don't know what it would take to get something going, but please let me know how I too can help to make an event a reality!

Thanks
ERIC
