What happened to the PA States explanation. I want to know why the PA states won't be in Allentown this year.

Apparently if the LVDC does not want to run it, it defaults to Pittsburgh every year. Philly, Poconos, and Codorus dont have the clout i guess?

Actually, the only other bid was submitted by Codorus and will be given the event by default.

As explained in the other thread, I am completely at a loss at how after crying bloody murder last year after not being awarded the 2008 PA States Bid, and after accomplishing so much this year in terms of course improvements, again running a successful tournament series, running a PDGA "C" tier event in September with significant sponsorship from local businesses, the desire to bring the PA States back to the eastern portion of the state, upholding my pledge to give the LVDC top consideration for the bid, and basically being told they were a "shoe-in" for being awarded the event, the LVDC then decided *NOT* to hold the event next year.

If anyone out in LVDC land is upset that the 2009 PA States is not being held locally, I urge you to contact your LVDC officers and express your frustration. Because they had it if they wanted it.

I never got this misterious e-mail message that you keep refering to..............maybe thats why its prefaced with "basically."

Here we go again.

Finally a response from the LVDC:

Quote:
Jeff: "Would the lvdc like to put in a bid for 2009 PA states?"

Jason: "No, thank you. We would like to wait until 2010."

Better late than never.

Finally! One simple exchange, that took all of 30 seconds, that could have come from either Jason, Ray or Robin at any point and avoided this entire soap opera.

Unbelievable.

Its unbelievable that you are making this big a deal over something as trivial as not recieving an e-mail (on 2 seperate message boards none-the-less)

If i ask someone: "if your interested in going to X please send me an email" and i dont get one. I would assume you are not interested. Right?

This is so rediculous its laughable. And im not laughing WITH you.

Here are the cold hard facts for everyone to understand:

October 2007: LVDC and IDLA submit bids for 2008 PA States

November 2007: 2008 PA States bid is awarded to Indiana. LVDC officers and LVDC members cry bloody murder over not getting awarded the bid. PA State Coordinator outlines why, and everything needed to do in 2008.

December 2007 - September 2008: LVDC makes major course improvements, again runs a successful tournament series, runs a PDGA "C" tier event in September with significant sponsorship from local businesses. Based on all these positive aspects, the desire to bring the PA States back to the eastern portion of the state, upholding my pledge to give the LVDC top consideration for the bid, the LVDC is basically a "shoe-in" for being awarded the event.

Beginning of October 2008: E-mail is sent to all TDs in the state of Pennsylvania soliciting bids for PA States 2009 with a deadline of 10/31, including Jason Davis, Robin Billig, and Ray Rogers. If the LVDC has decided not to submit a bid for 2009 PA States, they do not indicate so during the entire month of October.

Thursday October 30th 2008: E-mail is sent just to Jason Davis, Robin Billig, and Ray Rogers reminding them about the deadline of October 31st. If the LVDC has decided not to submit a bid for 2009 PA States, they do not indicate so.

Monday morning November 3rd 2008: Having not received anything over the weekend, e-mail is sent just to Jason Davis, Robin Billig, and Ray Rogers asking why their bid was not received. If the LVDC has decided not to submit a bid for 2009, they do not indicate so. No one contacts me. I have no phone number for any of them. All I hear is the sound of crickets chirping.

Tuesday night November 4th 2008: I make a message board post on the LVDC site expressing my utter confusion about why after raising holy hell last year about not receiving the bid in 2008, the LVDC does not make a bid this year for the 2009 PA States.

Wednesday Nov. 5th 2008: My post is removed from the LVDC site. I finally get a response and excuses from Jason Davis about not having e-mail access, wanting to do a 4-course PA States in 2010, and assuming (incorrectly) that the LVDC could not have done a PA States both in 2009 AND 2010. When in fact, Indiana did it two years in a row and I believe Codorus did too.

Thursday Nov. 6th 2008: I am subjected to numerous personal attacks on message boards and via private e-mail about the "soap opera" and "drama" I cause.

WHEN THE ENTIRE THING COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY ONE SIMPLE COMMUNICATION TO ME BY JASON DAVIS, RAY ROGERS OR ROBIN BILLIG!

that really sucks! i can't believe the elected representatives dropped the ball on this. i thought it was our turn to write a really big, fat check to the pdga. heaven knows they need it to decide how thick a towel one can put beneath one's knee during a round. damn. guess we'll have to wait another year for that "honor."

jeff, is there any reason why this was handled through private e-mail rather than being posted publically? it seems to me that the message might have gotten through to anyone without e-mail access if it was posted.

jeff, lube up cause here are the facts you don't want posted

this would have been a no issue had some other club besides codorus submit a proposal

jeff so didn't want give the no nod to codorus that the lvdc got an extra 6 days to say we were not submitting a bid

in your initial email, nowhere did it state that we were required to say we weren't going to submit a proposal

once november 1 came around we were out, end of story

if you would have liked for me to respond you might have wanted to my name in to column of the email instead of the cc area

both ray and I ran pdga tournaments this year
ray 2 at french creek and 1 at long trout winery (a course jeff is no longer welcome at, what did you do to deserve that honor)
and I 1 at jordan
our phone numbers are available on the pdga site as tournament director contacts

jeffs track record in terms of getting along with lvdc has been poor at best dating back the time he threatened to sue the barking spiders about an ace pot.
the scoop
the previous week someone hit an ace and took the ace pot
the ace pot gets capped at $150 when there is money available
since the ace pot was hit there was no money to be had when jeff recorded his on the pond hole at jordan
it was clearly stated at the beginning of round
none of this stopped jeff from threatening to the club for $150
he was given the $150 from his scare tactics and the money came from the basket fund

this is the same guy that had us first in line, a shoe in if you will

last year we were told we had an incomplete course and needed to show we could raise sponsorship dollars

we needed to correct these issues before we would be considered

history will show the first pa states was held at cedar beach in 2001, a very incomplete course with lines painted in the dirt and portable baskets

pa states was again held in allentown in 2003 and 2004 again with lines painted in the grass for tees

i believe in 2003 joe klosky pulled in an astonishing 405 dollars
pretty amazing how that worked without added cash

this info is also available at the pdga website

so if you were us what would you have done
we decided to wait till next year

maybe there will be a new pa rep till then
i believe the term is for 2 years

There was absolutely no reason for any of this jeff but you had to drag my name thru the mud

Again, the only drama was created by you, we did not submit a proposal by the deadline so we were out of the picture.
there was no reason for us to contact you, rules are the rules, unless of course you did not want give it to codurus

p.s. i don't have headache, hows your head feel now

Thanks for posting a bunch of incorrect information and useless "facts" Robin, most of which have nothing to do with PA States.

#1) Seems like if I'm no longer welcome at a course, then the course owner, his wife, daughter & son in-law wouldn't ask me and my wife at a Wine Festival to come back and visit, now would they?

#2) If $1 per person is collected from an average of 20 players per week for 26 weeks from April - October, then how much ace pot money would there be at the end of the year if only one $150 ace was hit the whole summer? Do the math. And funny, I don't ever remembering threatening to "sue" anyone. Seems like that would be something I would remember.

#3) Did you try to access the PDGA website this week? I did, and I couldn't access any telephone numbers.

Bottom line is that it shouldn't have been my responsibility to try to find your phone number, and if any of the three of you had the simple courtesy to respond to one of THREE e-mails sent to you, then you avoid all the "soap opera" to begin with. And now, instead of just admitting you were wrong and all of us moving on, all you choose to do is make personal attacks against me. Nice.
