I can't wait to get down there and play this course. From what I heard this is the best 9-holer, and everyone who's been down there has put in a lot of work, may all their shots hit chains and mine smack trees for not being able to help. Fred, would you post when the signs are up? I'd like to play it when the signs are up, maybe next Friday.

I got the signs installed to day in the rain... I think they look awesome. Everyone should have no problems navagating the course now.

As for the tee boxes being soft, the contractor is supposed to be coming back to compact all of them. They were supposed to do it in the first place, but apparently it slipped their minds. ]

I noticed that the township cleaned up the existing stone and dirt piles on hole 3 so that looks alot nicer.

Im glad you guys are enjoying the course. Hopefully we can get some more of the sticks, briars and other crap cleaned up on the 27th.

If you guys get a chance, give a review of the course here. Its a nice site. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2936

Thanks.

I am curious if there is any interest in having scorecards printed and available at the beginning of the course? Or do you guys think that the scorecards that are online are adequate? Im not sure if I want to go to the expense of making cards if:
A. They wont get used
B. They will just get emptied by punk kids everytime that it is filled.
C. The online cards are fine.

Let me know what you guys think.

-Fred

On a side note, I had my park board meeting last night to try and find out when the contractor is coming back to "fix" the tee boxes. No answer on when they are coming back... But they did install the sleeve for the practice basket and I hope to get that in today or sometime this weekend.

The other thing that blew my mind is one of the residents actually called the DEP about the course!! I was like WTF are you kidding me. Not sure what that will be about, but I cant see it being a problem. We did nothing wrong installing the course that would require any type of DEP general permit. I guess its just grouchy neighbors...

I told you neighbors would pull this kind of crap, Fred.

This is exactly how the 18-hole championship course at Windlestrae Park got chopped down.

Its out of my control now. Im not surprised that it happened either, I find it kind of amusing. Its more of a cowardly act if you ask me. Instead of showing up at the township meetings to voice their opinions, they hide behind the big bad Gov't. The DEP has bigger fish to fry than a small 9 hole DG course. Once they come out to see what was entailed, I dont think that there will be much of an issue. From what I was told last night, the concern was over #4...

What Fred will need is numbers in his corner for the next board meeting, right? Especially ones that live in that area.

It's not like that creek is deep that we would leave plastic in there.

If anything, we pick up garbage. We will work on improvements to the park's environment.

Also, traffic through that area will cut down on other seedy activity in the park. My co-worker yesterday played and interupted a little intimate love fest on the rocks of hole 4.

I dont think any of that is necessary. I believe the TWP wll be meeting with them next week. Lets wait to see what goes down. Like I said, I believe that this will be a non-issue, but b/c there was a complaint filed, they must come out to see.

I would like to say thank you to whoever has picked up sticks along the trails the past few days! I just got over to play it last night for the first time and it looks nice. The trail from 3 to 4 looks cool.

As far as cutting down on the seedy activity, the is a huge plus. The more presence there is in the park the less issues we will have. I have noticed that some locals enjoy using #4 as a target or paintballs. If anyone sees this activity going on, please do not hesitate to call 5-0. Just make sure you put out the doobie b4 they show up.

**Also, I hung a course map and what not in the message board adjacent to the restrooms yesterday.

Just got an email from the township and everything is fine from the DEP. Apparently they walked the site and found nothing wrong with the course installation. Aparently the DEP talked with someone who was there playing too. Props to whomever greased his palm. :)

The DEP also contacted the person who filed the complaint and told them there was no issue. Ha Ha Ha. To the fun spoilers.

When we all played a few weeks ago we also interrupted a booty call on the rocks on hole#4. We yelled 'fore' and waived a disc and he moved but she wouldn't. We stood there until they both got the hint and moved away.
