Sneak Peak this weekend at the Beer Wine fest.

Anyone going? Anyone expecting the course to be packed?

i'll be there around 2 pm. Because of the ski lift i think you can only play the course in between 11 am and 3 pm. Also from august 9th until september 11th the course will be shut down. On september 12th is reopens until october 31st but only on weekends. kind of strange but i guess they have other stuff going on there.

the lift will stop running at 3pm
that doesn't mean the course closes at 3
understand the lift will take you to the first tee
and you'd start your round a little after there
they want people of the mt. before dark
we'll be losing light in september and the course is on the north side of the mountain
probably will take 2-3 hrs to play, especially since no one has seen it yet, and include time to search for errant shots.

and yes, the lift will only run on saturdays
remember this a new venture, things may change down the road

I am planning on going down to play. Also I know someone whom works at the mountain and has told me has seen some of the holes and they are looking really good and got a fair share of interesting holes. Any more info or news on it I will let ya'll know:)

I'm hoping to be there while the wife's at work. Gonna try to bring 1 or 2 more people so I don't have to play alone.

nickxc,
Maybe you can ask your friend how they feel about people walking up the hill to play a round when the lift isn't operating. (I think I know the answer, but it doesn't hurt to ask.) The AT goes right over that hill, there is parking nearby and you save $10. If I had to guess, I would say they are more concerned with making money to offset the losses from pitiful PA ski seasons than they are with providing a serious dg local, so they wouldn't take too kindly to my proposition.

As someone who has played ski resort courses in Flagstaff Arizona and Sugarbush Vermont, I highly recommend that you bring disc golf discs which you don't care about losing. I played at the Snowbowl course in Pro Worlds 2003 and was the scoring director at the Sugarbush Open in 2007 and the Green Mountain Open in 2008 and saw highly skilled 1000+ rated players throw drives that disappeared hundreds of feet off the fairway and were practically irretrievable. Gravity is a funny thing, and while I haven't seen the Blue Mountain course yet, I'm still planning on bringing discs which I don't care about losing. Personally I'd rather play a couple of rounds of disc golf and then drink a few beers, then waste my time searching for discs in the ridiculously heavy woods which lies off the ski trails.

In the words of Steve Brinster,
you gotta bring your boys!

You bring your boys and I'll bring mine.

And when you're off in the nasty stuff looking for one of your boys, if you happen to come across one of my beat-to-hell MADC stamped DX Firebirds from 2001, could you please grab it for me? I'll be in the biergarden enjoying a few brewskis. Thanks.
